Actively attending seminars is an important part of PhD life. UW and its various colleges/departments have a long list of regular seminars related to urban design & planning. However, do not spend too much time on such diverse possibilities.
Hyak, the UW’s supercomputer, has had a powerful impact on supporting research at the UW.
Research Computing Club is a free source for students, funded by the STF at the University of Washington, to use the Hyak computing, and cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.) resources through the Cloud Credit Program.
Within the UW campus, use the Wi-Fi services and connect eduroam for Internet connection anywhere.
The Student Technology Loan Program allows you to borrow equipment such as laptops, cameras, and projections.
UW provides students with software such as Matlab, Overleaf, SPSS, and ArcGIS. The university or the college does not provide Adobe Suite, but you can use university computers or buy a student license.
